Avery Storm is going to release his mixtape called "CATEGORY 5" very soon so he gave a little taste in the meantime of one of the songs from this mixtape, called "PROMISE". On my trip to Arlington VA this past weekend I rocked with 50 Cent the whole trip, "GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN" Album. Most of us are hustling trying to get to the next level in life and this song says it all.
Diamond Supply Co. has some Chinos that will be available in approximately 2 weeks. This is one of the very few companies in the industry that I have a lot of love and respect for. They always drop that hot gear.

Da Closet is located in Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, VA. Many people may remember the name because this establishment was formerly a well know kiosk in the mall and have upgraded to a store location.
With this freshly renovated store location came some new clothing brands as well. Da Closet is looking to carry the freshest underground brands on the market. All the brands that will be hard to get your hands on or people have never heard of.

I ran into this mixtape by accident, my boy, MoGeezie hit me up on Twitter with the link, so I had to check it out. The mixtape is called "305s & Heartbreaks" by Ghostwridah and as soon as I saw 305 I had to see what's up, since I have made love for Miami.
He took the idea from Kanye's "808s & Heartbreaks" but he does it great justice and he is speaking the truth. Not typically what you would expect from Miami but I am feeling it.

Today for some reason I was thinking of VA artists that I know and I had a FUNKEY FLASH BACK of ILLUMINESSENCE. I met them back around in 2002-2003 and I had not started FFB at the time. Music sort of had a hold on me for a while, I wanted to do some things in the biz and just so happen these fellas needed some help with PR. During that time I was always in the streets and knew a lot of people because I used to hustle gear out the trunk with my boyfriend. So I was going through a career change being young and trying my had at various businesses. Illuminessence is from the 757, Ocean View to be exact and you will definitely hear in their music that they repped VA to the fullest. I came on board with them for a while and we were doing shows down at the beach, I can't remember the name of the club at that time but they were making some moves and making a buzz here on the scence.
We set up some commercials on 103 Jamz, I setup a freestyle battle and had people pay to enter and we had great turnouts. I had them setup for this event at Harbor Park where they had up and coming artists perform and you know I had to style them lol. Back then the throwback were the things so they wore those and I customized the kicks, I had custom sweatbands and all that and they were looking the part and trying to perfect their craft.
The sad part was they did not have good management, people in different directions and no one could agree, so I think they were getting discouraged and so forth and it fell apart. I was trying to contact record labels and all that and I was reaching people strangely enough but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
I posted up a few tracks off their album called, "THE VIEW". Most of the tracks were produced by another talented young guy named, Science Beatz. Wow he is another guy so talented that is amazing as well, I mean he plays actual instruments, I been in the lab with him from beginning to end. Anyways ILLUMINESSENCE had a that VA feel for sure but you can tell their influences were like Nas, AZ and that whole early 90s hard core north east movement. With more time and more work, they would have been great.
All I can say I can listen to this album like every song and I can't say that for many people. There is a track too with my boy, Mike L, and you will be hearing from him soon, he is back and forth from LA to Portland making that music jump off. Great R&B singer, very talented.
I don't know where Illuminessence is today or Science but I definitely wish them the best and hopefully they are working on this music.
Tell me what you all think about the tracks below. I got the whole album if you wanna hear more I will post more songs. VA peeps probably definitely be feeling it.

Yesterday on Twitter, I made a tweet asking people that were looking for more exposure to hit me up and if they had something nice going on I would put them on the blog.
So this young high school student contacted me and emailed me her info and as you can see, she is doing her thing with the photography and drawing skills.
Her name is, Rayline, she is going to be a senior in High School this year and definitely trying to get her work and name out to the public. She is taking life drawing and photography at a local college. Hoping to move forward in the field of photography and hopefully start getting people to model for me and go to college for this field.
We here at FFB definitely love to reach out to the youth and help promote them in positive areas of their lives. How can you not show love to a young person on this caliber and wanting to learn at an early age. So we kick a big shout out to her and wish you much success on your journey and know you will reach destination. Keep up the great work

Cali Stylz been on the grind for a minute out here in VA and reps Cali as well. Right now he is down in the ATL doing his thing. He's been going hard with this music for a while and really making some moves.
